Title: The Effect of Cheerfulness | Refusing to give in to the drab, this unknown tomato-like plant proudly shows its cheerfulness to all! |
This photo is from November 14, 2008 and I remember it as a dreary day full of cloudy skies and threat of rain. Despite all of that this little apple or tomato like plant proudly displayed its fruit. The field where this one was at had a dozen or so others, but most of their fruit was dried and brown like those in the background of this image. The most difficult part of getting this image ready was that bright yellow. The camera recorded a slightly odd green and when I would pull it to yellow the color channel would blow-out (lose all detail, become flat looking). I actually desaturated the yellow channels a little and made them a tiny bit "oranger" to pull out some of the green and make it look good. Basically this wild "tomato" you're looking at is exactly as I saw it in real life, if only a small bit drabber than the actual plant.

Wow! That's an odd little thing. November seems late for that kind of a fruit or vegetable. I guess that's why the others are dying. It sure looks neat though! Very bright :)
You have managed to find the cheerful side of what most people consider a dull month!
